Professional Experience:

Expert in program management, business development, strategic planning and implementation, strong marketing and communications skills with more than 15 years of experience leading development projects across multiple sectors including health, environment, democracy and governance, economic growth, gender, education, and youth. I have both development and private sector experience. I’ve led the development and implementation of social marketing plans, design of social and behavior change programs, community outreaches, and demand creation strategies. I worked with Management Systems International as the Deputy Chief of Party for two USAID communications projects for Kenya and Somalia missions. I previously worked for Exp Agency - a Marketing and Communications firm as the social marketing Team Leader, responsible for strategic management and technical expertise for donor-funded development projects. I have strong communication and problem-solving skills central to relationship management and collaboration in diverse working environments.

Affiliations and Achievements:

- Led the development and testing of a Mission-wide message to drive a unified purpose for USAID investments and partnerships to improve the visibility of USAID in Kenya.
- Led event planning and management of the 2024 American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) event.
- Led the development of USAID's implementing partners' engagement plan to drive a functional engagement between USAID and the implementing partner communications network, which had over fifty members.
- Contributed to developing USAID Mission in Kenya’s communication strategy, Risk Communication and Community Engagement Activities (RCCE), and Social Behavior Change Communications (SBCC) for COVID-19.
- Social and behavior change and marketing support to IFC on the Lighting Africa project aimed at creating demand for uptake of solar lighting in off-grid areas in Kenya.
- Led demand creation and communications activities for the DFID-funded 5-year family planning project to deliver improved family planning among rural women in Kenya. The project was implemented in 21 counties, whereas the advocacy component focused on the underserved counties including Turkana, Narok, West Pokot, Kajiado, and Samburu where social change was critical to delivering the desired change.
- Led demand creation and communications activities for the USAID-funded Kenya Integrated Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (KIWASH) project. A project that aimed to improve the lives and health of Kenyan citizens in 9 counties through the development and management of sustainable water, sanitation, and hygiene practices.
- Developed a concept and led implementation for the DFID-funded Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) project with the British Council. This was a community-level multimedia behavior change campaign that enhanced the respect for women and girls resulting in the prevention of violence in 2 counties in Kenya.
- Led the development of a communication strategy for UNICEF’s Routine Immunization program, tasked with developing the brand identity and BCC strategy. The communication materials were used to implement and reinforce the Routine Immunization message.
