Education:
Driven to uncover the political, economic, and social forces that plunged my country into a vicious cycle of fragility, conflict, and violence, I undertook a Master’s in African Political Economy at the University of Oxford. Armed with foundational interview techniques, survey design, and qualitative and quantitative research methods, I braved a contentious political climate to conduct over 35 interviews in my home country. My fieldwork encompassed focus groups and dialogues with diverse stakeholders, including army officers, civil society leaders, parliamentarians, and former ministers.
Navigating the complex narratives that emerged from the intense discussions required diplomacy, agility, and discernment, core attributes that I sharpened during this research process. Cognizant of the value of quantitative data in supplementing qualitative documentation, I also conducted an extensive analysis of national economic statistics. An amalgamation of the findings resulted in a compelling dissertation that garnered academic praise and national acknowledgment.
