Professional Experience:
With over 15 years of experience in Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) and research across development, humanitarian, and emergency response programs, I bring a wealth of expertise in designing, implementing, and managing MEAL systems. My background in Sociology (BA) and Demography (MSc) enhances my ability to navigate complex program environments, providing a strong foundation in both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies. I have worked in diverse settings, collaborating with international NGOs, UN agencies, and government entities, ensuring programs meet high standards of accountability, effectiveness, and sustainability.
Throughout my career, I have developed and implemented comprehensive M&E systems that are essential for tracking program performance and impact. I am highly skilled in designing and applying integrated frameworks such as Theory of Change (ToC), Logframes, Results Frameworks, and indicators that facilitate effective project monitoring. I have also designed detailed monitoring tools and data collection systems, ensuring that programs are tracked accurately, from project initiation to completion.
I am adept at conducting research and evaluations, including action research, impact evaluations, assessments, and surveys (baseline, endline, and post-distribution). My experience extends to developing Terms of Reference (TOR), designing data collection tools, managing field data collection, conducting data analysis, and producing comprehensive reports that provide actionable insights.
My expertise in MEAL also extends to capacity-building and training. I have assessed MEAL gaps within programs and developed tailored training and mentoring programs for MEAL teams, program staff, and local partners.
In the area of Accountability to Affected Populations (AAP), I have led initiatives to establish inclusive feedback mechanisms that ensure the voices of affected communities are heard and integrated into program design and implementation. By providing training to staff on these mechanisms, I have helped ensure that programs remain responsive and accountable to the populations they serve, enhancing community trust and participation.
Another key strength is my proficiency in conducting Data Quality Assessments (DQAs) to ensure the integrity of program data. I have worked extensively with digital M&E tools such as DHIS2, ODK Collect, and KOBO, leveraging technology to streamline data collection, management, and reporting processes. My experience in data analysis spans several platforms, including SPSS, STATA, Epi Info, and Atlas-Ti, enabling me to produce reliable and accurate analysis to inform program development, reporting, and policy advocacy.
I am also highly skilled in tracking program indicators and analyzing data to assess progress and impact. I ensure timely, high-quality reporting for donors and stakeholders, ensuring that organizations remain accountable and transparent in their operations. My ability to analyze complex data sets allows me to identify trends, challenges, and opportunities that inform strategic decisions and improve program outcomes.
I have a proven ability to foster collaborative and positive working relationships with colleagues, stakeholders, and external partners. My strong team-building skills enable me to facilitate effective teamwork in multi-disciplinary and multicultural settings. I excel in facilitating workshops, meetings, and reviews that bring together diverse perspectives to strengthen program planning, implementation, and evaluation.
I am continuously committed to professional growth, staying updated on the latest trends, best practices, and innovations in the M&E field. This dedication to learning ensures that I am always applying the most effective methodologies and tools in my work, contributing to the continuous improvement of programs.
