SUMMARY

As an expert editor, writer and researcher, I craft concise, compelling and politically sensitive narratives and knowledge products accessible to multiple audiences. My objective is to help clients successfully communicate and increase the impact of their messaging, analysis and reporting among donors, government policymakers, civil society organizations and the public. I take raw materials or drafts and check them for grammar, syntax and logical structure. I have extensive writing, editing and research experience across the diverse subjects engaged by the United Nations. I am well-versed in the terminology and editorial practices of the UN Editorial Manual as well as other style guides. I can also advise regarding pull-out quotes, layout and image selection.
My lengthy professional experience rests on a robust multidisciplinary academic foundation that includes an MSc in Human Rights, a Master in Environmental Studies (Gender and Development focus) and an Honours BA in English. Previous and ongoing consultancies across United Nations agencies include with UNESCO, UNICEF, UNDP, UN Women, UNRISD and other leading organizations and institutions such as the OECD, the German Federal Foreign Office and Georgetown University. Past National Magazine Award nominee. I have worked or studied in Japan, Indonesia, Switzerland, Italy, England and Suriname. Direct links to online documents I have produced or edited, can be found at my LinkedIn profile: https://www.linkedin.com/in/kellyoneillresearch/.
