I am a dedicated philanthropy professional with extensive experience in youth empowerment and programme management across East and Southeast Asia. Currently, I serve as Programme Officer at EMpower, managing grants and supporting local NGOs. I am currently in Hong Kong and will be relocating to Toronto in mid-November 2024 to continue my work in youth development and sustainable community impact.

Professional Experience:

Managed and supported grant making and partnerships, programme monitoring, and capacity strengthening initiatives for over 25 local non-profit grantee partner organisations in ESEA (China, HK, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Vietnam). These organisations work towards empowering young people from resource-limited setting, specifically in areas of livelihood, education, and health.

Grant making and management relevant work:
• Managed Hong Kong and China portfolios and a partnership in the Philippines, amplifying trust-based philanthropy.
• Managed ESEA portfolio due diligence, support ESEA portfolio pipeline sourcing, system implementation, programme site-visits and donor engagements.
• Managed ESEA knowledge and administrative database.

Capacity Strengthening relevant initiatives:
• Strengthened ESEA partners' organisational capacity on children and young people safeguarding practices through constructive dialogues and supports, as a regional lead on the theme.
• Led regional Meaningful Youth Engagement (MYE) initiative of Youth Consultation in the Philippines for ESEA Economic Wellbeing Strategy; support MYE in Indonesia for ESEA Safe and Healthy Lives Strategy and support MYE initiative at partner level through grant partnership.
• Supported other regional participatory, capacity strengthening initiatives on topics of e.g., hybrid form of learning, fundraising, labour market scans, sexual and reproductive health and rights, impactful future skills training to disadvantaged young people in Asia, gender transformative programming, etc.
• Served as a member of a global taskforce of Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Accessibility and Climate Change, facilitating global team’s learning on the topics and supporting implementation at global level at the regional team.
