Professional Experience:

I have skills and experience in immunization at both local and international levels. I worked with the Ghana Health Service as a community health officer providing technical support on immunization and surveillance activities. I conducted measles and Polio Supplementary Immunization Activities and other catch-up campaigns.
I also mentored nursing students on public health field practical as a Public health tutor with the Ministry of Health.
At the international level, I worked as a WHO STOP Consultant in Lao PDR. I provided technical support on surveillance for polio eradication: conducted records review and on-the-job training for health workers on Acute Flaccid Paralysis (AFP) with job aids. I worked with different partner organizations in planning and implementing routine immunization programmes and emergency response programmes; measles and covid-19 outbreak preparedness and Outbreak response immunization. I conducted OPV/measles campaign supervision and monitoring in Xiaghkong Province and provided technical support in covid-19 outbreak response in Houphan, Champasak and Vientiane capital Provinces in Lao PDR. Also, I provided technical assistance on surveillance for Measles elimination and other vaccine preventable diseases: supported health workers in using case definitions to increase case detections, advocated for the integration of EPI and surveillance activities and analyzed epidemiological data to know the pattern of disease occurrences for early action. Furthermore, I supported routine immunization activities, Periodic Intensification Routine Immunization exercises and other catch- up campaigns.

Affiliations and Achievements:

1.Trained 450 health center staff in Lao PDR. This initiative significantly boosted their knowledge and the performance of routine EPI among the health center staff.
2. Initiated door-to-door, assessing 1500 households for Covid-19 Rapid Convenience Monitoring in Lao PDR. This effort helped us pinpoint the unimmunized population, and we made sure to carry out mop-up campaigns to increase coverage.
3.Worked collaboratively and achieved over 90% coverage for Polio and measles SIAs. This was a huge milestone that contributed to Ghana earning its wild Polio-free certification.
4. Equipped 200 community-based surveillance volunteers with the necessary training in Hohoe Municipal, Ghana. Their enhanced skills in disease surveillance were a game-changer, leading to the eradication of Guinea worm and polio in the Municipality.
5.Carried out mop-up immunization exercises in 20 hard-to-reach communities in Hohoe Municipal, Ghana. This drive ensured that zero-dose and partially vaccinated children got their shots, playing a critical role in reducing the incidence of vaccine-preventable diseases in the Municipality.
