Professional Experience:

I have extensive experience in research, statistics and economics. I have strong analytical, writing and communication skills and am currently working on the Human Development Report 2013.
I have professional experience as an academic and at UNDP. I have applied my training as an economist to important development issues. My work has involved following closely the socio-economic challenges of our times, measuring their human development impacts, and evaluating policies and programs with which we can hope to forestall severe development impacts. Going forward, there is a strong need that international efforts pertaining to climate change, inequality and the rest of the post-2015 agenda are well thought out and grounded in solid economic concepts. I feel confident that I can usefully contribute to this process.

Education:

Ph.D. in Economics from Princeton University (2009) in Game Theory, with applications in development economics including risk sharing and microfinance. Economics Tripos from University of Cambridge, United Kingdom (2000-2002). B.A. (Honours) Economics from St. Stephen's College, Delhi, India (1997-2000).
