Professional Experience:
I started my career in the Corporate sector in the early 90's and made a switch to non-profit sector in the late 90's.
My experience in NGO includes working in both types of organizations,who are doing grant making to partner Organizations as well as organizations which are grant recipients. I have successfully managed grants received from government,Companies under their CSR mandate,National and international donors like UN Agencies, Ford Foundation, Rockefeller Foundation, MacArthur Foundation, Plan India, Tata trusts to name a few.In my professional journey of more than 20 years in the field of Finance and Accounts, in Non-Profit Sector, I have worked in areas like, Budgeting,Variance Analysis, monitoring of day to day financial and accounting transactions, Grants Management, Audit, finalization of annual accounts,Management Information System Reporting.I have developed the Systems and Procedures for internal control and also prepared Manuals on Finance and Internal policy of staff and implemented it.
I have worked in organizations like ‘Care India’ and ‘National Foundation for India’ which have a presence in both National and International level and are working in the fields of Education, Health, Livelihoods, Governance, Leadership, Development Journalism etc. I am currently working in a Non-Profit Organization called Sahapedia, which is an online encyclopedia on Art, Culture and Heritage and have completed more than four and a half years, heading the Finance, Administration and Human Resource departments. I am part of the Senior Management team and reporting to the Executive Director. I believe, the experience gained in handling the various functions will stand me in good stead in shouldering the responsibilities, expected of me.
Apart from finance I have also managed Administration and Human Resource Departments. I have imparted training to our partner Organizations to build their capacities and have also done their financial reviews.
