Incentives Driving Economic Alternatives – North, East, West is a $150 million USAID-funded project being implemented by DAI and two sub-grantees (ACDI/VOCA, Mercy Corps) in 15 provinces of Afghanistan.

Program Manager – Food Insecurity Response for Urban Populations (FIRUP), Afghanistan
The FIRUP program was a $10 million, USAID-funded program implemented from April to November of 2009. It was designed to inject cash into urban Afghan communities suffering from the financial impact of two drought years that saw a huge migration of agricultural workers from rural to urban settings. Managed the $2.5 million project budget in Mazar-I Sharif and implemented more than 350 small cash-for-work projects employing more than 50,000 people during the eight-month program.
