Professional Experience:
The consultant has worked in Africa, Southeast Asia and Central America (Honduras). He is best known for his leadership and team building efforts aimed at improving livelihoods of poor farmers through integrated watershed, sustainable land management and bio-diversity conservation in Peru, Bolivia, Colombia, Chile and Ecuador. He is the led author of the book “Pioneering Change”. Used as a teaching aid by many Andean universities, this book systematizes lessons learned in Community Forestry and Sustainable Land Management in the Tropical Andes from 1990-2002. In recent years the consultant has been involved in the formulation and evaluation of many large international environmental developments projects. He has strong working knowledge of grant policies and procedures of donor organizations such as GEF, UNEP, UNDP, FAO, USAID, Swiss Aid, EC, Dutch Aid, and IDB. On his latest consultancy he traveled through Central America to evaluate USAID’s Regional Program dealing with Climate Change and the application of REDD* programs in El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Panama.
