Professional Experience:
I have vast experience in Program Management/Program Life Circle Management in a National NGO and Bilateral Organization with specialty in managing Membership and Partnerships, Human Rights Campaigns, public policy analysis, advocacy, stakeholder engagement: sensitization, mobilization and action. Experienced in Program Startup (inception stage)and Close out documentation and reporting, Political Economy Analysis, Conflict/Context Analysis, Stakeholders Mapping, Small grant/Seed funding, capacity building and Trainer. A PRINCE2 certified Project Manager.
Designed advocacy campaigns and strategies, IEC and SBCC materials, including communication Strategy.
In DFID-SAVI, as a Voice and Accountability in Parliament Adviser, I worked with the Legislature on mainstreaming voice and accountability in parliamentary processes and procedures, and with the Civil Society and the Media worked on parliamentary engagement and voice and accountability mainstreaming and programming.
I am also a Columnist and Freelance Writer with some National Dailies in Nigeria. A former Sub-Editor and Reporter with the defunct New Nigeria Newspapers.
Also I have programmed on peace-building initiatives that targeted structures, systems and behaviors that will enable sustained peace and stability through state building activities that makes the state accountable and democratic.
In 2006, I was also a facilitator for the African Peer Review Mechanism (APRM) study on Economic Governance and Management in Nigeria, Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, under the auspices of the New Partnership for Africa’s Development (NEPAD).
I have also engaged the Poverty Reduction and Strategy Papers, otherwise known as National Economic Empowerment Development Strategy(NEEDS) and State Economic Empowerment and Development Strategy (SEEDS) both at the National and State levels.
I was appoint a consultant to the Kaduna State Government by the then Governor to work with the Ministry of Economic Planning on SEEDS issues for the advocacy, sensitization and mobilization of citizen participation in the program.
I was again appointed into the KADSEEDS 2 drafting committee to help with formulating citizen participation strategies in the programme as should be captured by the KADSEEDS documents.
I was a Team Leader in the 2006 NEEDS and SEEDS benchmarking exercise to some states of Nigeria, as commissioned by the Federal Government and European Union, to evaluate the implementation of the NEEDS/SEEDS interventions.
