Professional Experience:
Having spent first 12 years of my career in the financial sector where I served top tier international financial institutions, I shifted in the mid of 2006 towards agribusiness & worked with reputed multilateral aid agencies, developmental organizations, regional governments and private investors in Pakistan, UAE & Guinea (West Africa). During this part of my career I set up private businesses and did consultancy assignments in the areas of agriculture and rural development. Having worked along the entire value chains of numerous agricultural subsectors and possessing strong background in finance and banking, I successfully executed assignments involving sector and supply chain analysis, agricultural infrastructure development and training / capacity building of subsistence farmers. My ability to connect grass root problems in the agricultural sector with innovative solutions in the banking sector to overcome the financing challenges of farmers and my intellectual reach which extended from subsistence farming to corporate boardrooms is my biggest strength.
Clients I served include USAID, International Trade Center (ITC), Sindh Government (Agriculture Department and Public Private Partnership Unit, Finance Department), Ghantoot Group (UAE) and numerous private sector investors. During my banking career I worked for highly reputed international institutions like ANZ Grindlays Bank, Standard Chartered Bank and Indosuez W. I. Carr Securities.
In the agribusiness sector I successfully executed assignments in horticulture, livestock, fisheries, trade and infrastructure development areas. Whereas, in the banking sector I worked for the treasury and consumer banking areas.
