Professional Experience:
I have worked for many years in a Managing Director position of a large international Non-Profit Organisation (NPO), whilst at the same time doing community development for almost a decade. I have since chosen to combine my experience and skills to establish a Consultancy Business that supports business, in particular NPOs and SMME, with a range of business-related matters including project management, business development and strategic planning. Secondly, I have self-funded the establishment of a NPO that seeks to engage, develop and educate young people for a better future. Our focus is on increasing retention at schools, assisting young adults to grow their careers through training workshops and helping women by advocating for awareness around gender violence and gender equality, particularly in the workplace. In addition I have a keen interest in building health and science research capacity in low to medium income countries.
More recently I have been seconded to the our Department of Health to work as Senior Project Manager on the COVID-19 screening and testing strategy. This work included developing new strategies, integrating electronic platforms with COVID-19 strategies and developing working relations between provincial and national departments of health.
I believe that my strong leadership and operational experience, my passion for strategic development and my track record of capacity development and planning for and executing successful activities and initiatives will make an me excellent candidate to support organizational development and strategic planning. As part of an entrepreneurs workshop I host I have worked with multiple corporates and community development organisations to assist young entrepreneurs. This has also allowed me to create broad networks to support this initiative.
I am a dynamic and innovative generalist with exceptional vision and a strong ability to seek out new opportunities. In my previous and current position I have used my strong financial management and budget management skills to ensure sustainability and efficiency in utilizing available resources. I have played substantial roles in human resource management through both supporting and implementing effective human resource strategies. I have also played crucial role in capacity development through training our international partners. I have ensured my experience in leadership and development is supported by relevant academic training. I hold degrees in science, philosophy and business administration. In addition I hold certificates in public relations and project management giving me additional soft skill. My ability to grow and establish orginsations is evident in the successes I have achieved in establishing and leading Non Governmental Organisations and using my training to establish my consultancy.
I am flexible to change and know how to lead team in multiple complex projects ensuring growth and sustainability. I have worked cross-culturally locally and internationally. I have strong experience in stakeholder relations and have successfully developed partnerships with government and corporate stakeholders. I have been in leadership roles in Gates Foundation Consortia, where I have had to deal with multiple different partners. In addition I served as a consultant for The Global Health Network developing research capacity for low income country researchers.
