Professional Experience:

Financial and Grants Management
• Lead and implement policies, guidelines for management of project finances including sub-grants
• Provided leadership on budget, expenditure monitoring and monthly financial reporting to Executive Committees and Funders e.g. USAID, CDC, Foundations, Governments
• Lead development of project and operational budgets as well as developing implementation strategies to ensure value for money, and that project spend is in line with project implementation
• Lead and implement sound treasury management functions to ensure projects are funded timely. Manage inflows and outflows of multi-currency remittances and employ strategies to preserve value of funds
• Provide technical assistance to project, non-project staff, grantees on organisational policies and Funder rules and regulations
• Provide leadership in support of full grant cycle from pre-award assessments, monitoring & compliance visits and close-out procedures
• Preparing and maintaining statutory books of accounts at Head Office and Field office level, consolidated reports in compliance.
HR & Payroll Management
• Review and supervise monthly payroll processes and ensure timely and accurate payment to staff and statutory payroll related vendors e.g. medical aid, pension fund, tax
• Lead finance, procurement and administration teams effectively to achieve organisation goals and targets by setting goals for staff and effectively managing performance on ongoing basis.
• Lead reward strategies and implement appropriate employee value proposition strategies to retain staff
• Advise and lead recruitment process for vacant positions
Office administration and management
• Provide leadership regarding a clean and conducive working environment by taking into account security office administration best practice
• Ensure safety and insurance of all assets and equipment e.g. vehicles, computer equipment. Provides oversight and guidance in safety measures for all office staff
System Implementation
• Member of Implementation team of the Sun Accounting and Sun Flow
• Implementation of the Pastel Accounting and Payroll Systems across 9 Southern African country projects
• Managing implementation of ACCPAC in 3 Regional Offices

Bachelor of Computing and Accounting Sciences with major in accounting and auditing
