Rise Up & Care is an innovative organization that supports existing local organizations with a long record of success in the global south.  After face-to-face vetting and an application, selected organizations receive up to four years of expansion grants. Rise Up & Care also works with top local filmmakers to produce 1-hour high-quality documentary films to show the world the motivational and innovative work of local leaders in marginalized communities that use high-level performance to transfrom the lives of young people.  

Rise Up & Care's first projects are based in the favelas of Rio de Janeiro.  Six organizations were selected as partners and Katia Lund, the co-director of City of God, is directing a series of six powerful documentary films.  Rise Up & Care is looking for a second city for the next set of projects.
